Conjugated polymer based Organic solar cell (OSC) technology is a promising new generation photovoltaic technology, which offers attractive characteristics including solution process, low manufacture cost, flexibility, semitransparency, adjustable colour etc. for new solar photovoltaic applications beyond silicon.
In this talk I will report my OSC research in US and Hong Kong SAR from 2005. The research focuses on the following directions: 1. Understanding the morphology in polymeric OSCs and developing morphology manipulating strategies for efficiency and stability; 2. Device interface engineering strategies in OSC; 3. Optical and device design for high performance transparent OSCs. These strategies have achieved organic solar cells with over 21% PCE, and record performance transparent solar cells.
