专家介绍: Prof. Dr. Eva Unger leads a research team at Helmholtz Center Berlin in Germany focusing on developing scalable manufacturing processes of hybrid functional materials for renewable energy technology. She also holds a professor position at Humboldt University Berlin. Her scientific background is in Chemistry and Materials Science with a Ph.D. degree from Uppsala University, Sweden, and undergraduate from Marburg University, Germany. She started working in the field of Perovskite Photovoltaics during her postdoctoral Research at Stanford University in the USA.

Halide perovskite photovoltaics (PVs) show great promise as low-cost, high-efficiency materials for renewable energy conversion. Scaling from lab cells to large, stable solar modules remain challenging. This talk addresses key issues in technological upscaling, focusing on solution-based slot-die coating—a technique compatible with roll-to-roll manufacturing and high-throughput production. Achieving uniform, defect-free films require optimized ink formulation and control of crystallization dynamics. The talk will also stress the importance of open, FAIR-based data platforms such as the Perovskite Database (www.perovskitedatabase.com) to promote transparency, reproducibility, and innovation. Building a strong data-sharing culture is essential for accelerating sustainable commercialization of perovskite technologies.
