Plasmonics, as a new discipline in nanophotonics, has stirred remarkable spackles of light in nanoscale, owing to its strong abilities in field confinement, enhancement, and manipulations. In this talk, several progresses in plasmonic manipulations in our group will be introduced in three parts. First, I will talk about the manipulations of light polarization associated with the extraordinary optical transmission (EOT). This design method was recently developed to realize an active display device in an integrated LED chip with plasmonic polarizer. In the second part, I will introduce you a newly developed in-plane phase modulation method on the surface plasmon beams, by which nondiffracting Airy beams, collimated beams, and broadband focusing are successfully achieved and will be demonstrated. In the last part, we will extent the plasmonic waveguides into the active region with alliances of nonlinear crystals and semiconductor media, in which optical parametric amplification of SPP, plasmonic second harmonic generation, and electrically pumped unidirectional SPP source will be presented and discussed.
李涛,南京大学副教授。2005年博士毕业于南京大学物理系;2005-2007在南京大学固体微结构实验室做博士后研究;2008年应聘至南京大学材料科学与工程系(现属现代工程与应用科学学院),同年获副教授职称;2012年获南京大学首批“登峰人才支持计划”;2013年获得“国家基金委优秀青年基金”,并获得香港浸会大学“王宽诚教育基金”赴港访问研究。目前研究兴趣是等离激元光子学、非线性光学、纳米光子与光电集成。曾先后访问过新加坡南洋理工大学、香港浸会大学、莫斯科州立大学。参加国际会议并做邀请报告十余次。主持自然科学基金项目多项,目前主持一项国家重大研究计划课题。在Phys. Rev. Lett.,Nano Lett.,Scientific Reports,Phy. Rev.系列,Appl. Phys. Lett.,Opt. Express,Opt. Lett.等刊物发表论文60余篇,引用超1000次(H指数18),长期担任Appl. Phys. Lett.,Opt. Express,Opt. Lett.等多家国际知名刊物的审稿工作。
